To celebrate the holiday season at GreenBlue, we watched WALL-E as part of our monthly environmental film screening in December. To call WALL•E Pixar's best film would potentially denigrate films that deserve no scorn. But this is their most ambitious undertaking since "Toy Story" and storytelling of such charm and visual wit that it can stand proudly alongside the studio's best.

WALL-E (the character) is eminently lovable, by far the film's most human inhabitant. And yet WALL-E (the movie) actually has more in common with EVE. It is an exquisitely rendered piece of work.

WALL-E begins on an Earth centuries in the future. Then one day, a spaceship drops in for a pit stop and leaves behind an egg-shaped robot. WALL-E and EVE barely escape being shot into space with the rest of the refuse but WALL-E is badly damaged.
Meanwhile, McCrea has figured out how to hack into the ship's communication system and tells EVE and WALL-E to head to the ship's central deck, where a special machine will return the ship to earth when the plant is placed inside it. The film perfectly depicts possible consequences of consumerism and over reliance on technology. Even though some blame technology to be the foe of human beings and this planet but its humans who are turning into their own enemies. What happens when Wall-E and EVA finally get together. [No, Wall-E is not a "girl" and not a "boy" either.
